1 1/2 years old :)

Matthew is now a little over a year and a half. He is starting to talk a lot more and learn to do a lot more. He has started repeating what I saw and sounds the word out. His favorite word would probably be "yes". Mainly because he's learned if he wants something he has to say yes for me to give it to him. He can pretty much understand everything I'm saying. He had his 18 month well check last week and it went well. He is 26lb 3oz and 34 1/2 in tall. This makes him in the 50th percintial of weight and 95th precential of height. He had to get one shot and the nurse prepared for him to cry and scream. Honestly so was I so we held his legs and arms down. Then she said "1, 2, 3, and prick" Matthew just laid there and then said "hm" really quick. It didn't even seem to faze him. So best doctor's visit ever!!

I recently brought in his swing and slide toy from outside because of winter coming so soon. It's big enough for him to play on but small enough to fit in his play room. He loved the fact that I brought it inside and he immediately started sliding on it which he has gotten very good at doing. He loves when I go in there and watch him climb up all by himself, get seated, and slide down. Then if he hears my mom in the kitchen he'll go behind her and push her into the room so she can watch too. Then when he slides down he'll look at us and start clapping his hands.

He's still eating almost everything I put in front of him. In the past couple of weeks my mom and I have been trying out Chinese recipes and Matthew loves Chinese food especially egg rolls. I was surprised because it has cabbage in them but turns out he likes cooked cabbage too. I also got him turned on to dried dates which looks similar to a raising so maybe that's why he likes them. I don't know and I don't care why he eats them just as long as he does. He's a pretty good fruit and vegetable eater but if he has one specific fruit or vegetable two days in a row he'll refuse to eat it for like a week. It's like he just gets tired of it which is understandable.

He's still a pretty good sleeper. He goes to bed at 8pm gets up at 8am. Sometimes I can hear him talking in his room early. He'll wake up and read a book that's in his crib and he'll wait until Daddy comes to say goodbye before he'll even call for me. Last night Matt had PMP class so he doesn't get home until 9:30p so he asked if I would keep Matthew up until he got home. So they could have some playing time together. Well around 8:30p Matthew looked like he was so tired. He just laid on the floor with a blanket or he would come cuddle with me on the sofa. I would ask him "do you want to go night night" and he would say "yes". So CUTE!! But he was able to stay up and got to play with Daddy when he got home. Then he went right sleep as soon Matt put him down. Then this morning he's sleeping. Making up for his time lost.

Yesterday my mom went in for test to check her heart cause there had been some abnormalities come back on a previous test. I was hoping to stay with her incase anything had happened but apparently they had to inject her with radiation and she couldn't be near Matthew. In fact everyone in the waiting room was radioactive. So Matthew and I did some shopping close by and just waited for her to be done.

My mom has taught Matthew a new song. She actually taught him how to clap because she was seeking patty cake to him since he was born and he learned to clap from that song. So this past month or so she has been singing 10 little monkeys jumping on the bed. Well when she gets to the doctor part she'll wave her finger and say "no more monkeys jumping on teh bed". So Matthew has started waving his finger like that during the song. He has also learned to jump but I don't think it's cause of that song. He can jump and dance on request which his dancing is so cute.

Halloween is a week and half away. I've had Matthew's costume since before he was born so I'm looking forward to him being in it. He's going as a monkey. I love his costume cause not only is it adorable but it's warm too. We plan on going to Aunt Teffy work for trick or treating and probably a few places in Grove City. Then Matt's brother and his wife are coming to visit for a few days. Then my brother, Eddie, is scheduled to come for Thanksgiving which I'm looking forward to that. Also we are staying home this Christmas which I love. We are just going to relax and have some fun. I have started planning arts and crafts for Matthew to do and hopeful make them a tradition that we do every Christmas. So definitely looking forward to all the holidays coming up.

I hope you enjoyed the update. Hopefully we will have new pics and video up soon.
