11 months and walking

Matthew has started taking steps away from the furniture. The day we left for Houston he took his first step but didn't take any on vacation. When we came back he took one step towards his daddy. But now he is takng 2-3 steps from the coffee table to the sofa. He's starting to feel more comfortable. I'll catch him practicing his balance and taking steps. I thought it would be a few more months because he is so cautious but I guess the crawling is getting a little old. Now he's not running around by any means but he's closer than he was last week.
I can't believe he is only 1 month away from being a year old. It doesn't feel like it's been a year yet. I'm currently planning his birthday party.
We have recently put up gates because one day he just started climbing the stairs. He had never even tried climbng them and then one day he climbed the whole way up. Even when he was just crawling I would hover over him around the stairs just incase and had never seen him have any interest in the stairs.
He still refuses to put stuff in his mouth. But he has started drinking from a cup. We're still working on all that.

He just had to wait until he got home to start showing off! Oh well, he'll be running around the next time he comes to visit...I'll have to get some gates here too!!!
