11 weeks old already!!!

Matthew is now 11 weeks old. Time is really flying by now. He seems to be growing right before my very eyes. He was getting a little chubby for a while but now his torso and limbs are getting longer so he's starting to thin out. He went through a growth spurt for the last week which made it feel like all he did was eat and sleep. He is a lot more active now when he is awake. Making all sorts of sounds and screaming out just so he hears his own voice. He smiles all the time especially when Matt comes home. I got MYfirst laugh out of him this morning. I was playing with him and put my finger on his chin and moved his lips like he was talking and he just squealed. He was so cute! He has also started standing a little and can put weight on his legs but doesn’t have any balance. But he hasn’t quite figured out the crawling thing yet. I will put him down for tummy time and go to the kitchen to do something and I will come back and he will have crawled backwards off the mat. This happens almost every time he plays on his tummy. I don’t know how he does it but whatever works I guess.
He hasn't quite reached 3 months yet but he has grown way out of 0-3 month’s clothes. The legs are just way too short. So I have started swopping out his clothes and storing them away for the next baby. But at the rate he is growing I will probably be pulling out the 6-9 month clothing in a month or two easily. Lately he has only been using 1 outfit a day which is nice so his clothes don’t get too worn out?
I have put getting him to sleep through the night on the back burner. I feel like he will let me know when he's ready. In fact he has learned that his bed time is around 10pm. So we are getting a nice bed time routine down. We go upstairs and I put his pajamas on and either I or Matt will feed him. Depends on who is less tired. Then he usually falls asleep during his feeding but if not he still goes into his crib and falls asleep on his own. In fact last night he took a nap from 6-10pm and he woke up to eat and I thought he would be up all night. But when I put him in bed after he ate he just looked around and didn't make a peep. I went in his room an hour later and he was starting to drift off. He still wakes up around 2am for a feeding which I always do. He does wake up at 6am but he just needs his back rubbed and he drifts right back to sleep until around eight. He still does that weird thing where he cries out in his sleep so he has woke me a few times with that but he doesn't wake his self up so I go right back to bed. I think Friday is getting a little tired of him waking up at night. If I don’t wake up right away and tend to him she will come up and pat me with her paw and then nibble on me. One night I woke up and his cry on the monitor was a little muffled which it’s normally blaring and I looked over and Friday had knocked it over along with everything else on my night stand. Then one evening Matt was burping Matthew and he was fussing a bit and she just couldn’t take it. She came over and started attacking me and then looked over at him like “do something”. Matt thinks it’s hilarious but Friday only does it to me. We’re not sure if she is protecting him or just irritated by his cry. But she has been good with him so far.
I just recently found out that a friend of mine is expecting a little boy in October. I knew she was pregnant just didn't know it was a boy yet. I am so excited that Matthew will have another little boy to play with that is only 6 months younger and lives close by. I'm looking forward to play dates with them :) Plus I am very close to her family who has a pool which has a heater so we will be spending a lot of time over there this summer swimming. The heater is really nice because I can bring Matthew over in the evening when the sun is going down but the water is still warm. And I found Matthew these little baby swim trunks at the thrift store the other day. They are so tiny and cute. I’m sure he’ll grow out of them before the end of the summer but they work for now. It will be nice for Matthew to have a little friend close by if we decide to stay in Columbus in the future.
This weekend Matt and I will both be technically going out of town. He will be going to Cleveland with some friends to see the Indians/Reds game. Matthew and I are going to Jeffersonville with my mom for a little shopping.
We are currently having camera issues but I will try to get some new pictures up soon. I hope you enjoyed the update.
