15 months old

7/08/2009

Matthew is 15 months old now. He has been growing so much and learning to do different things. He is completely off the bottle and has been for a few weeks now. He has also started to use a fork to throw food around but hasn’t yet made it to his mouth. He’s also learned to walk backwards which he thinks is so funny.

He also had his 15 months well check. He got 2 shots while there and did just fine with them. He weighs 23lbs and is.30 ¾ inches tall. Ears, eyes, and mouth all looked good. Next month I will be taking Matthew to his first dentist visit. Which I am not looking forward to cause not only do I hate the dentist but I don’t want Matthew to be in pain or scared.

Last weekend was July 4th. Matt got Friday off from work so he was home. This holiday we decide to stay home and just relax. We rented movies and a Wii game. My mom came up on Friday and we cooked coconut shrimp, mussels, and corn on the cob for lunch and then steaks for dinner. I also set up Matthew’s pool, water table, and sprinkler up for him to play in. Then Saturday we grilled hamburgers, brats, baked beans for lunch. I set up Matthew’s bounce house for him. He didn’t really get into it during his birthday party so I wanted to wait a few months and see how does. He still didn’t like the big bouncing area but he loved the ball pit. Later that day my mom made ribs and baked potatoes for dinner. Then a few of our neighbors let off fireworks so my mom and I set outside and watched them. So overall the holiday was very relaxing.

Matthew is been trying to climb on the sofas. Which cause he’s so tiny it is so cute to watch. He gets on the tip of his toes and stretches. Then he puts one foot on and pulls up. He hasn’t mastered getting off. Sometimes he’ll get on his tummy and puts his feet first which is the right way but then sometimes he forgets there is an edge to the couch. He also has this little chair that his Nana got for him when he was first born. He has started to sit in it properly cause before he would just climb on it and flip over. So the other day he pulled one of the small pillows off the couch and placed it in front of his chair. Then he went and got his play remote and set in his chair right next to his daddy who was sitting with his feet propped up and holding a remote. It was too cute.

I hope everyone else had a good holiday weekend.
