2nd weekend of Oct. Update

10/12/2008

This weekend seemed to go on forever it seemed like. Saturday was pretty boring except I found out my friend Jackie gave birth to a baby girl. I plan on seeing her hopefully tomorrow at the hospital. My mom is planning on coming to watch Matthew a few days for me. Jackie ended up needed a c-section so I’m going to try and help her as much as I can while she heals. Sunday we started on remodeling the upstairs. We picked out the paint and light fixtures. I will start painting some time this week. Hopefully I can finish before next weekend. I am really looking forward to it being done.

Matthew is starting to become a wiggle worm and a talker. He rocks back and forth every time he is held. He also sits up really well now. He puts his arms out like wings and rocks. He can sit f quite awhile until he falls over. He also has found his voice and loves to use it. I like hearing him in the morning talking to himself in his crib. We also visited my parents this passed week. Matthew was really bouncy there too. He gets more bouncy when he is excited. He loves his Nana and Papa and get’s so excited that sometimes it’s hard to hold on to him when he sees them. Matthew has really started to recognize when we are at my parents. He’ll start kicking the moment we walk in the door. My mom always says the same thing to him “where’s Nana’s boy?” So he has really bonded with my mom quite a bit. He also loves his swing over there. Any ways I’m going off topic. I got Matthew a new bath tub. His first one said infant on one side and toddler on the other. But the problem was that he sits up now and doesn’t want to lie back in the tub. I tried putting him on the toddler side but it had hump under his knees which still made him strain to sit up. So I got a big one that has no humps just a completely flat bottom. I just didn’t think he was ready for a whole big bath tub to his self. I got it at All about Kids Too I think that’s the name. It’s in Lancaster. I have actually tried going to this store many times before. Every time I went there was a different reason why they were closed. I really liked it. It was like Once Upon a Child but cheaper. Anyways this same day my mom and I also went to lunch. Matthew set in a high chair at the restaurant for the first time. He did pretty well except the seat was a bit slippery for him. I need to get one of those cushion seats that fit in those type of high chairs.

Bed time has not been going very smoothly. Matt and I have been taking turns putting Matthew to bed. For awhile there he was fine putting to bed but was waking up around 5am needing repositioned. He cut that out but is now throwing a fit as soon as he enters his crib. But once he’s asleep he is out for the night. I have also taken off his bumper. When he does finally fall asleep he is in one position and in the morning is a completely different one. So to a void any problems I just went ahead and took it off.

I have some new pictures that I need to post. Since Matthew has been so wobbly he is very hard to take pictures of. Every time I take a pic he comes out blurry. So check back
