Fair weekend

10/06/2008

This weekend was a busy one. Friday Matt stayed home because he wasn’t feeling well. I went out to eat and shopping with some friends later Friday night. Saturday was nice and calm. I organized my closet and gave away a lot of clothing. Matthew hung out with daddy and played around most of the day.

Sunday we went to the Fairfield County Fair. It was Matthew’s first fair. We stopped and saw my parents and to get their food order for the fair. We then went and walked around until we met up with Matt’s family. We had Matthew do the pluck-a-duck game. He seems to like the water but the ducks were going a little fast for him. But he won a stuffed puppy dog. He also got his first balloon to play with. He did pretty good holding onto the string. He kept trying to pull back his visor to see the balloon but the got mad because of the sun. I let him play with it a little but he just kept scratching at it and I was afraid of him popping it.

We went to see all the animals. Matthew took two naps while there. Just so much to look at takes up all his energy. But he only took 20 minute naps or so. He then fell asleep on the way home. Matt seemed to have a good time as well. I enjoyed most of the fair. I have nothing against farm animals however I am allergic to the hay. In fact I had a headache before we left the barns. I continued to get even sicker as the night went on. But after getting some medicine in me I am feeling a lot better today.

In everyday news Matthew is doing great. He is starting to open his mouth when he sees the spoon. He also closes his mouth when the spoon is in to get the food off. He’s starting to chew on the spoon and his bottle. He also sometimes chews on his tongue. It scares us sometimes because we think he has something in his mouth. He is supposed to start on stage 2 foods after his next doctor’s appointment which is on the 22nd. He had been a little difficult getting to sleep. I used to rock him and give him bottle until he fell asleep. Well those days have gone. He hates being held like an infant. He’ll arch his back and try to sit up. Last night he just wanted to sit up and rock. He has been doing that a lot as well. Every time I sit him up he starts to rock back and fourth then eventually falls over. He is able to sit up with out his hands supporting him as long as he doesn’t rock.

He is getting the hang of his walker. He’s not in it that often but when he his he gets around and has a good time.

In 2 days Matthew will be 6 months old. So Happy 1/2 a Year Birthday Baby.

I posted all the pictures from the fair and later that day. They are so cute!

Sounds like a fun time...fairs are great, except that they charge to much for the food and games...The new pics are soooo cute! Not fair that you never bring him to see me! I am his favorite Aunt after all! :) Crystal
