Feeding himself!!!

Today Matthew started feeding himself. He was playing around and it was snack time. I had bought some graduates cheetos which are one of Matthew's favorites. I hadn't bought them in a while because I only buy them when they are on sale and I have a coupon. So I handed him one and he actually took it. Normally he would open his mouth and come towards the food. So he set there for a few seconds and then crawled over to the couch where I couldn't see him. Then I heard some crunching noises. So I peeked over the side of the couch and he was munching on the cheeto. So I started clapping and praising but not too loudly so he didn't get scared. But he realized that I was happy and ate the rest of the cheeto. Then he came over for more and ended up feeding his self the little bag I had. He even took one and tried to feed it to Friday which so adorable. He continued to feed himself finger foods the rest of the day. I'm not sure what came over him or what changed but this made my day.

And I even got a phone call about it..."I have some news!"...I didn't know what to think! But, I'm so excited for him...soon he'll be eating his own little broccoli trees, too! and who knows, maybe onion rings!!! (multiple exclamation points for Matt...)
