Matthew's first July 4th

We celebrated Matthew's first 4th of July this weekend. We went out to his Great Aunt Laurie's and Uncle Kenny's home ay Buckeye Lake. There he got to meet his Great Aunt Laurie, Michelle, Candy, Uncle Kenny, Uncle Rick. He also met his cousins Sarah, Miles and Noelle which we call "Aunt Noelle". Matthew realy hasn't laughed or smiled for anyone excepy Matt, my mom, and me. But he isn't really around anyone else but he was just smiling and laughing for his Aunts. I think Noelle even got a few giggles. We got there about an hour before his nap time but he was having so much fun with all the new people he was definitly fighting his sleepiness. In fact he was yawning the whole time. They had a few colorful paintings, one of snoopy, that he was so focused on. We could all see how heavy his eyes were getting but he just couldn't miss any of the action. So when we left he was out by the time we went around the corner. Then we went to my parent's for a barbeque. Matthew woke up when we got there. He woke up as soon as he heard his nana's voice. So when he fell asleep again around 8pm we called it a day and went home. The next day was Matt's cousin Noelle's bridal shower. I brought Matthew to my mom's because we didn't feel like he should go to the shower. But because we were bringing tables and chairs to the shower I had to bring Matthew to my mom's at 6:30 in the morning. So when Matthew woke up I fed and changed him and put him right into his car seat. I packed the car the night before. Anyways Matthew was so funny. He was smiling and talking the whole drive. It was just different than our normal routine so he was just so excited. I'm glad we did that because even though I put sun block on through out the day I still got burned. The shower was a lot of fun. I enjoyed just relaxing and not having to feed, change, or hold anyone but after a few hours I was ready to see my boy. So we went to my mom's and she said Matthew was smiling and laughing a lot during the day. We ended up staying for dinner but both Matt and I were so exhausted. I fell asleep in the car along with Matthew on the way home. It was a fun filled weekend but now we are spending the day to recover from it.
Matthew will be 3 months old on Tuesday and weighs 14lbs. Not sure how long but people keep telling me that he is long and big for his age but he is definitly growing nicely. He is still not sleeping through the night but I haven't really pushed it. I have scheduled Matthew's baptism and sent out a few invitations. It's a private ceremony and we are just having a few close family members there. I wanted to keep it small and personal.
My brother and his wife, Bobby and Carolina, are flying in on Wednesday to see Matthew for the first time. I haven't seen them since Christmas so I am looking forward to their visit.
In other news Matt has 7 classes left until graduation. The ceremony will be at the end of August. It's hard to believe he is so close to being done with school. He has worked so hard and I am so proud of him. I am still at home with Matthew and loving every minute of it. I feel very lucky to be able to be home with him. I can't wait until Matthew starts crawling,talking, and walking. He is just getting so big and more of a personality everyday. I enjoy seeing every laugh and smile :). It's has been so great being a mom.
