NEW UPDATE 4 Months :)
8/10/2008
Mathew is now four months old. He has started on cereal with a spoon. He does pretty well. I started with putting the milk on the spoon and he did not like that. So then I mixed some cereal in the milk and he swallowed it without crying. Not to say he didn’t make a funny face. I think this was also the first time he had sat in a high chair. He seemed to really like it. It is very similar to his swing that he has at Nana’s house which he loves that swing. They both allow him to sit up with a tray in front full of toys. He has been using his walker a lot as well. He likes to go in the kitchen while I’m cooking and I put toys on it for him. Every once in a while out of the corner of my eye I’ll see the walker move backwards. I look over at him and he has this shocked look on his face.
He is still sleeping through the night. It is very rare that he wakes up for anything. I try to keep his bed time at 10pm but sometimes he is just so sleepy he just passes out. Then I get him up at like 8-9am. Sometimes he is still awake when I put him to bed. So he is learning to fall asleep on his own. Then I really don’t know when he wakes up because he doesn’t really cry for me. I can hear him talking to himself and wiggling around in his crib. But I don’t realize until I wake up and listen for him on the monitor. I’ll go in a get him and he’ll be looking around or playing with his hands. Then I will peek over the crib and when he sees me he just gives me the biggest smile, giggles, and starts kicking with excitement. He’s just extremely cute in the morning. Lately he has been in a completely different area of the crib in the morning then where I put him the night before. He is eating more per feeding but is eating less times through out the day. He was doing a lot of snacking here and there so I have worked on cutting that out.
People keep telling me that Matthew is big/tall for his age. Not being around many children Matt and I don’t really have other babies to compare him to. But the other day I saw a woman with her little boy and I was for sure Matthew was older. But to my surprise the little boy was 1 month older than him. The little boy’s mom said “Oh but he was 4 weeks early, so he’s small for his age”. Then I told her that Matthew was 4 weeks early as well. It shocked me because that baby couldn’t even hold his head up as well as Matthew can. As a mom you’re always proud of new things your child can do but I am extremely happy with Matthew’s development so far. Everyone keeps saying his will probably walk before he crawls. Even his doctor said he had strong legs. As much as I look forward to not having to carry him constantly I am not looking forward to chasing after him.
In family news Matt has only 2 class sessions left. He will have his hooding on Friday the 22nd of August. Then we will be having a party to celebrate on Saturday 23rd as it stands now. Then that Sunday will be his commencement. We both are looking forward to his schooling being over with. After he graduates he will be going for his PMP (Project Management Professional). As for me I have been doing some summer cleaning.. I have also planned a community yard sale. Also this past weekend we went to Matt’s cousin Noelle’s wedding. My mom watched Matthew so Matt and I could have a nice relaxing evening. It was such a gorgeous day and a wonderful wedding. We picked Matthew up around midnight and he was asleep in his crib. Nana’s report was that he was a perfect angel. Then Sunday we brought Matthew out to meet his Great Uncle Ronny and Aunt Janet for the first time. His Uncle Ronny even fed him while we were there. Pictures of this weekend and most recent pics of Matthew are coming soon.
Also my nephew Austin’s birthday was this weekend so HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!!!
Hope you enjoyed the update

Yes, I did feed Matthew. He especially liked the up,up,up burp method.

You didn't tell me you had put up an update...I thought I would just check. Nice update...remember, every baby grows different--Brittany was 20 pounds at a year--Austin very different, look at them now--they were both only breastfed for 6 months and then slowly given foods...same feeding plans--just different genes! And, one note--I don't really like walkers--be careful about leaving the basement door open! Anyways, I miss you guys, and thanks for wishing Austin a Happy Birthday! Crsytal

Uncle Ronny- he sure did. I have even started doing it. It works and he seems to think it's funny so win win :) Thanks
