Our Lil' swimmer

I signed Matthew up for swim lessons. It's more like a mommy/baby swim cause he's only 15 months so he can't take that much direction yet. Anyways he started on Tuesday and he has them for the next 5 weeks. This week I was nervous how he would react and he did okay when we first got there. They have 3-4 year olds doing lesson at the other end of the pool. When they got dropped off their parents would leave and they would start to cry which made Matthew a little nervous. But then we went down to the shallow end where all the babies were. They had 2 boys Matthew's age and a little girl his age too. We sat off the edge of the pool first and Matthew got more squirmy the closer we got to getting in. So I got in and he immeadiatly grabbed for anything around him so he didn't have to go in. Then the crying started and didn't stop for probably 10-15 minutes. They finally pulled out floaty toys and that made him a little happier. I would toss the toy and he would see it go under and then pop up. He thought it was so funny. He was still really shy with the instructor so when she would come over he would put his head down. A few times he ended up putting his whole face under water because he would want to put his head down and miss my shoulder . The last 10 minutes I put my hands under his arms and he stretched out and started kicking his feet. Then I would count to three and toss him up while holding on to him and he loved it. Then we all got into a circle and sang songs which his eyes just lit up because he loves when people sing. So the last part of class went really well and he enjoyed it. I plan on taking Matthew over to a friends house this week because they have a heated pool. Hopefully he'll get more use to the water and lessons will go a little smoother.
In other news I have been working on my mom's house like crazy. A few family members have really been there for us in getting things done. I don't think we would be as far as we are without them. We're hoping to be done by September so when we come back from vacation she can list the house. My mom, Matthew, and I are going to Houston to visit my family from Sept. 5th thru the 22nd. It's a long time but I haven't seen my new neice and it always seems like we come back too soon. So I am counting the days.
We are currently having some problems uploading pictures but I hope to get some new ones up soon and maybe videos too. Hope you enjoyed the update.
